Day 1 ~ Melon Detox

So we have arrived at Day 1, its all about Cantaloupes.


The cantaloupe is a juicy, orange summer fruit that’s related to the watermelon and honeydew melon. It also belongs to the same plant family as cucumbers, pumpkins, squashes, and gourds.

Cantaloupe Nutrition

Like many fruits and vegetables, cantaloupe is mostly water. One cup of fresh cubes has 144 calories, 6% of your daily serving of fiber, and zero fat and cholesterol.

It also packs:

  • 100% of the daily value for vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that protects your cells from damage

  • All your daily need for vitamin A, which helps keep your eyes, skin, bones, and immune system healthy

  • About 12% of your recommended daily potassium, important for your heart, muscles, and blood pressure

  • It hydrates you. Cantaloupes are filled with electrolytes. These minerals balance body fluids in your body and keep it working right. That helps you stay hydrated and full of energy.

When you cut into a perfectly ripe cantaloupe, what you’ll notice first is its fragrance: honey-scented, floral and slightly musky. You’ll know you picked a good one if its juicy and well-hydrated on the inside.

Lemon + Ginger Herbal Tea


☐Breakfast

Cantaloupe CUP with a few Blueberries, a splash of Coconut Yoghurt and a sprinkle of muesli


☐Lunch

Cantaloupe SMOOTHIE

Combine ingredients into a blender:

  • 1 1/2 cups diced cantaloupe,

  • 1 medium banana,

  • 1/2 cup greek yoghurt,

  • 1 tbsp honey,

  • 1/4 cup orange juice, and

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


☐Afternoon Snack

DIPS : Guacamole + unsalted Corn Chips


☐Dinner

Cantaloupe SALAD with mint, lime + Pepeitas:

  • 1 medium cantaloupe, rind + seeds removed, sliced into small slithers / bite size pieces

  • 1/2 cup finely sliced red onion,

  • Zest from 1 small lime

Dressing:

  • 1/4 cup olive oil,

  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar,

  • 2 tbsp lime juice,

  • 1 tsp honey

  • salt + pepper

  • chilli flakes optional


Garnish with:

  • 1/4 cup chopped mint,

  • 1/4 cup chopped Italian parsley,

  • 1/4 cup pepitas,

  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta,


☐Dessert

Fresh Cantaloupe PIECES + Pukka detox tea ~ a clean fusion of organic aniseed, fennel + cardamom
